2. Pacific ocean

As funny as it may sound to you, I was so excited to see the ocean for the first time in my life. Long, straight line that divides shore from the sky. Huge waves that are waiting to be tamed by surfers.  It is just awesome.

3.  Walking on the sand

Third day we went for a long walk starting on Pacific beach and continuing towards Ocean beach down south where Christmas parade was about to happen.

On our stroll we stopped several times for coffee...or beer...or spicy snacks. We ended up bar hoping along the Ocean beach, meeting some interesting people. Drinking a lot of good beer as well...having an interesting conversations with cab drivers from Nicaraqua and another one from Somalia. Listening to their life stories was breathtaking and inspiring.

1. Morning after rain

When we were about to land, I couldn't see a thing because of thick, gray clouds, floating above the city. It made me even more impatient to see how this famous city looks like. Shortly after we went out of the plane and airport, a heavy, humid, warm air, tall palm trees and hugs from our friends made me feel like home. ( Minus the palm trees but you get the idea ). We wasted the rest of the day in local beer  brewery cause SD is famous for it. And Mike is a big beer lover and so are we. After few hours of catching up with what happend in last couple of years and who did what and where, we  all went back to their appartment to get some rest and get ready for the next day. Mike and his wife Sarah live in campus of University of City San Diego in La Jolla . That means having a privilege to see how students in USA, California live, work, study and entertain. Place they live in is green, eco, fully functional, shipshape building and it is surrounded by several big libraries, medical and research centre and few cool bars.
Next morning we woke up as early as the sun and hit the road to start and explore. Our first stop was Balboa park and soon after the famous San Diego Zoo.
